House of Fraser wanted to launch new concept stores focusing on its ‘Buy and Collect’ proposition. Working on the principle of small footprint-big choice and measuring around 1500 square feet, the smaller format stores will not stock merchandise but will use large format touch screens and computers to order products. These are then delivered the following day to either the customer’s home or to the store for collection, giving customers direct access to over 1000 brands stocked on the recently redesigned website.


House of Fraser appointed technology and services partner Box Technologies to work on this truly multi-channel retail experience, which relies on the latest in customer-facing technologies. Box Technologies was involved throughout the planning and implementation stages of the process and used our extensive experience in the retail sector to specify, supply, install and commission the hardware – 46-inch touch screens, using the Box Interactive Digital Signage interface linked to House of Fraser software. To ensure security and discretion with payments, Toshiba PCs were supplied with SpacePole mounting solutions. Working closely with House of Fraser’s in-house team, Box Technologies integrated the concept, delivered the software and ensured that everything was ready for the grand opening.


House of Fraser can now provide the ultimate customer experience. An assisted sales service is offered in a relaxed shopping environment, with sales advisers helping customers to navigate House of Fraser’s online offering and assisting them with each process, from product selection to secure online payment.
